1.Problem statement:

Intro with tiny working hands, holding a newspaper trying to read but unable to understand, dumb Labium with dove eyes seeking help during a tea break at university main cafeteria. Compelled a dr to stand and approach the innocent soul. The little child got confused and harassed with the sudden movement of a stranger towards him. After a glance at the poor soul stranger’s eyes filled with tears and created a heartbreaking scene for the viewers when it revealed that the kid even did not know how to hold the paper to read correctly. The only statement heard did you want to study my boy? The answer to the kind question amputated my heart. Sir! we the poor could not be your peers. This single statement was a threshold for the initiative to CLEP (Child Labor Eradication Program) in the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences at UAF in 2013 by some senior students of DVM. Time passes very fast, bit by bit joining of faculty members promoted it to other departments of the university and Uptil now CLEP is registered as Non-profit organization in DCO Faisalabad under the Act-1860 and moving forward to the other universities of Pakistan. Inspiring from this wave against child labor developed emotions for these children which eventually converted into enthusiasm to do more better, willing for expansion of this wave all over Pakistan. Personal visits to the houses of such children and one on one talk with their parents compelled me and CLEP members to go for every possible thing to promote the vision. To hold the expenditure of the children’s education is not the only thing but to take care of their families is also a problem.

2. A solution to the problem:

Regular donations of 150 PRs. on monthly basis by each student have made the education of such 50+ children possible and 5 students to stand on their feet. But, to combat with the great challenge of Child labor affected 18 million children out of 22 million all over Pakistan. This critical situation demands the participation of more people especially university students to unite under the umbrella of the CLEP. My vision is to promote the voice for this injustice. We cannot teach everyone but your support can make it possible!

Some activities by CLEP at Faisalabad.

3. The course of Action and Resources:

This can be possible on the platform of the Amal where students of diverse territories of Pakistan are working under the fellowship of 2020. Network to other universities can be established with the help of these students and several fundraising and regular donations campaigns can contribute to our vision a lot. The base is available with a well-developed organizational structure. The need of the time is to unite the efforts for the common goals. It can be possible within a period of 2 months to establish introductory movements from the core committee and development of links.
